Transport hire company, Membrey's Transport & Crane Hire, has accepted another delivery from The Drake Group – an 8×8 Steerable Extendable trailer and 2×8 Dolly.

The trailer features Drake's new eight-ram steering system with a closed-up clear deck length of 19 metres.

Fully extended, the trailer offers another 8.5 metres of extension, bringing the total to 27.5 metres of clear deck.

Drake Group Sales Manager, Sam Drake, explained that by putting the ramps down, Membrey's is able to achieve an extra three metres – bringing the total combined deck and ramp space even further.

"You can basically get 30 metres of clear deck with the ramps down, which is just awesome," he told Trailer.

"That's a pretty special part of it, and the fact that it's got an eight-ram steering system means you can adjust your steering configuration for the best steering geometry based on your preferred length."

The trailer comes with all of Drake's best features, including a drop on bolster, Cobo return to ride height functionality, double acting suspension rams, steering response bar, stainless steel, chrome rims, full radio remote-controls and a lowered height bumper including a low height join.

It also comes with an adaptor block, so that existing clips with standard joins can be fitted.

"Craig and I have had a longstanding relationship for over 20 years, and it is a privilege to build his trailers," said Drake.

"Craig's requirements are often unique as he never buys something off the shelf, it's always customised to suit his specific freight task, or with a job in mind.

"He's a pleasure to work with, and he's a very loyal Drake customer and friend.

"He loves the brand and our company, and when he comes to visit us he fits in like one of the team. For the people that know Craig, he lives and breathes his motto that ‘hard work pays off’.

"So as long as he is living by this mantra he is buying Drake trailers, we can only hope."

In other news, Membrey's Transport & Crane Hire recently accepted delivery of a 4×4 Full Widener Rear Steer trailer from The Drake Group for its new 40-tonne Franna crane.
