The Washington State Patrol is hoping you can help them investigate a crash in the lower Yakima Valley on Saturday that left a driver in critical condition and another driver behind bars in the Yakima County jail.
Troopers say the two-car crash in Toppenish happened on the afternoon of May 27 on State Route 22 at the intersection of North Track Road. A press release from the state patrol says "The driver of a white 2001 Chevrolet Silverado traveling on North Track Road allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with SR 22. The Silverado then struck a Ford Fairlane traveling eastbound on SR 22." The crash resulted in serious injuries for one of the drivers. No identities have been released as the investigation continues.
Troopers say the driver of the ford was critically injured and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The driver of the Chevrolet was taken into custody for vehicular assault. The driver is being held in the Yakima County jail.
